Job Description
The Packaging & Processing Lead plays a pivotal role in the operations of a logistics company. This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the packaging and processing of goods, ensuring that they are prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently.
Job responsibilities
- Responsible for managing a team of packaging and processing personnel.
- Assign tasks, provide training, and ensure that the team operates efficiently.
- Ensuring the quality and accuracy of packaging.
- Leads are responsible for establishing and maintaining strict quality control procedures.
- Keeping track of inventory levels, ordering supplies, and coordinating with other departments.
- Improve packaging and processing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Overseeing that all safety regulations are followed.
- Maintaining accurate records of packaging and processing activities.
- Working closely with other departments, such as shipping, receiving, and customer service.
- Addressing issues and discrepancies in packaging and processing promptly, identifying the root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ensuring that goods are prepared for shipment in a manner that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
This role requires a combination of leadership, logistics expertise, and attention to detail to maintain the smooth flow of goods within the supply chain.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Minimum 2 years work experience as Packaging & Processing Lead
- (CPP) Certified Packaging Proffesional or,
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP): The APICS organization issued.
- Forklift Operator Certification: If you interact with loading forks or other equipment.
- Effective communication with team members and other departments is necessary for a smooth logistics operation.
- Ability to work effectively both on an individual basis and as part of a team
- Strong computer skills to maintain accurate and complete documentation
